Life over time will help to shape you into the person you are today. Through relationships, friendships, work and personal development, life experiences form the memories and history of your life. Sometimes however, experiences may become unhealthy, strained, even destructive if left unresolved. The emotional impact could leave you feeling anxious, depressed or worse. You may not even be aware, only that something doesn't feel right with you. 

A concern for someone else may also become detrimental to your mental wellbeing. Even success can, for some, be a negative experience. 

Regardless of the cause, not being able to speak with someone, anyone, for fear of being judged, misunderstood, rejected, worst still, ignored, can resulting in one feeling even more isolated and alone. 

This is where counselling may be of benefit.

Counselling seeks to provide a safe space that enables you to speak openly and freely to a qualified counsellor without fear of being judged or rejected. They will listen patiently and respectfully, allowing you to express yourself honestly at your own pace and will not attempt to lead or direct, instead trusting in your ability to eventually find your way and share your experiences when you feel ready.

Counselling can feel challenging, as it can help you bring to the surface deeply held emotions and experiences which have remained hidden or forgotten. As your counsellor, I will be with you throughout, working together to aid you in your understanding continue navigate these emotions and work towards healing and growth.

Together, we shall explore any thoughts, feelings, or experiences you choose to share, at a pace that feels right for you. Your guidance will determine our journey, ensuring that our work aligns with your unique needs and preferences.

Clients tend to seek counselling for a wide range of issues, examples include; anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body shaming, eating disorder, domestic abuse (physical, sexual, psychological), child abuse and bereavement. Counselling sessions are thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs, focusing on what you choose to share. This personalised approach ensures that you receive the support and guidance necessary to foster your emotional well-being every step of the way.

As your counsellor, I offer empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard — the foundation of the person-centered model. My goal is to provide the essential elements that encourage you to reveal your hidden self and to embark on your journey of awareness. By embracing the core principles of active listening, remaining fully present, showing genuine empathy and accepting your world unconditionally, I strive to foster a safe, trusting and non-judgmental relationship in which you are able to flourish.
